When elected, I commit to to being a full time State Treasurer, which includes prudent investing, agency transparency, and consistent accountability.

The State Treasurer's Office plays a critical role in the financial stability of the state by not only serving as the bank for other state agencies, but also investing excess money. Currently, we invest and protect 11 billions of your dollars, in several different funds.
- General Fund Investment Pool (General Fund Liquidity Portfolio, Core Portfolio, TRAN Portfolio)
- Bond Proceeds Investment Pool (Tax-Exempt, Taxable)
- Local Government Investment Pool
- Severance Tax Bonding Fund
- Repurchase Pool
All funds are invested in conformance with federal and state law, using the following priorities: safety, liquidity, and yield to maximize investment return by not compromising the preservation of the principal of the invested funds and maintaining sufficient availability of cash.

I have been a proud public servant for 19 years, serving as a municipal and magistrate judge, helping New Mexicans facing foreclosure save their homes, and helping individuals living with disabilities save money and keep their needs-based benefits.
FINANCIAL LITERACY AND PROTECTION
I have been proud to offer financial literacy and consumer protection education to New Mexicans but that's not enough.
Child development savings accounts for every baby born in the state, along with financial education, will empower our youth with opportunities as they transition into adulthood.
Every New Mexican deserves the opportunity to succeed and as State Treasurer, I will do everything I can to make that happen.
